I was pleasantly surprised , my girl Britney Spears not only took home 1 award but 3 awards!!! So I guess she was right everyone did want "A piece of me" She is making a come back bigger and better than she was before. I am so happy to see she is making things right of her life!

Not only was I pleased by that but I really liked the host he was funny but I am sure some did not find him funny (republicans)
he made alot of funnies on their part.

Christina Aguilera looked great and sounded great as usual. She is growing into a beautiful women and has made alot of changes from her younger years. I was impressed by the fact that she hasnt made herself extremly skinny.

Its nice to see some young women in hollywood be REAL women.

Pink preformed great as always. I just love her style and attitude.

T-Pain on the other hand was disgusting. What makes this man think that we want to see his underwear? And someone please tell me why in the hell does he keep grabbing his crotch? Does he have crabs or some kind of STD making it uncomfortable down there? If thats the case I am sure this man has enough money to see a doctor! Shheesh!

oh and Kid Rock , well he Rocked it as he always does!!! Love me some Kid rock.

I didn't see the show but did see clips of it on the Today show - - Britney did much better than last year- she looked much better too! Good for her! They didn't show Kid Rock but I like him - oh and his music! lol

I need to try and find a clip of the host Russel Brand he was a riot! I never heard of him before seeing this, I guess he is from Brittian

Russell Brand hosted the 2008 Video Music Awards but not everyone was laughing at the British comedian. Brand made several controversial comments on politics, teenage pregnancy and racism.

After telling the audience to vote for Barack Obama, Brand said “Some people, I think they’re called racists, say America is not ready for a black president.”

He also slammed current president George Bush calling him a “retard” and a “cowboy fella.”

“But I know America to be a forward thinking country because otherwise why would you have let that retard and cowboy fella be president for eight years,” he said."We were very impressed. We thought it was nice of you to let him have a go, because, in England, he wouldn't be trusted with a pair of scissors."

Brand also took a swipe at the 17-year-old pregnant daughter of Republican vice president hopeful Sarah Palin. “That is the safe sex message of all time,” he said. “Use a condom or become a Republican!”

He repeatedly slammed the Jonas Brothers for wearing “purity rings” as a symbol of their vow to remain a virgin until marriage. American Idol winner Jordin Sparks took up for the Jonas Brothers calling Brand a “slut” when she took the stage. Her comments promoted Brand to apologize.

"I just have one thing to say about promise rings. It's not bad to wear a promise ring because not everybody – guy or girl – wants to be a slut,” she said to the crowd’s cheer.

“I didn’t mean to take it lightly,” Brand told the audience before joking, “A little sex once and a while never hurt anybody.”

I don't think I've heard of him before but I found his jokes funny if those are his above. I can't see the video- says no longer available - darn!
