Does anyone have a web tv or ever used one?

Is it exactly like a regular computer where you can play games and everything. Do everything you can on a regular PC?

Same here ... from what I remember, it was a service for people that didn't want to deal with owning a computer and was very limited in what you could do. You had a dumbed-down keyboard that hooked to your TV set, and you could mainly visit and read web sites through the service, but that was about it. I'm sure it's improved over the years, but nobody I know uses WebTV anymore, and I haven't seen it advertised or talked about for years.

We have a version of those, but super advanced, in all of our classrooms. They are super neat!

Are you thinking of getting one, Fancy?

Thanks esper.

I am thinking of one. I just think how comfortable I could be laying in bed talking to you all...lol

And just think of the monitor size!!!! Wow that would be a big computer screen! and if you could do everything as normal then I could watch some Great movies as well!

I had one years ago that was stolen a few years back. My hubby had never seen or heard of one until he met me. He loved the thing. He didn't get online a lot (still doesn't), but he enjoyed the comfort he had when he did. I loved it too. At the stage in my life that I had it, it was perfect. I probably wouldn't be satisfied with it now. I love my pc. Back then, being able to chat or surf online while chilling on my couch was amazing! And I loved that I could view everything through my tv. They are limiting. However, I'm sure they've advanced a bit since I had one. I was actually thinking about webtv the other day. I'm also not positive on the movies things. I didn't really know about them back then. I basically chatted with my friends and did personal (just to learn) research. Now, I know so much more about the online world and enjoy a greater span of activities.
