| I haven't been on the last few days and that is because I have had the pleasure of keeping my 4 year old grand daughter at my house. This is the first time that her mommy has let her go for this long. And the first time that grandma has had her for this long. I tell you it has been non stop "why....; what is....; how.....;" and then again "why?" She is going home in about 3 hours and as much as I love her I am going to love the silence that her absense brings. There is a good reason that God planned for YOUNG women to have children and not OLD crotchety women like me. | |

| Don't feel bad. It happens to the best of us. We've already raised our own, not it's time for them to raise theirs and we get the benefits of playing with them now (and send them back!). LOL | |

| Please don't take it wrong. I very much LOVE my children. But now I am at the point to not have to go through all of everything again. Now I can enjoy the child much more and not worry as much about what is to be done. I get to enjoy every second of them. Not that I didn't with my own. It's just with that comes more. Now I get to truly know them. I LOVE IT! | |

| OLD CROTCHETY WOMAN! You are only 42. That is not old. My son is 21 but he hasn't given me a grandchild yet. Wow that sounded weird saying grandchild and thinking as mine. Oh no, he better not make me a grandma yet. I'm not ready, lol. | |

| I can't wait either...although I don't want mine to have kids just yet. They are still too young. My son is only 19 and my daughter is only 16.
I love babies and can't wait to spoil some more, LOL!! | |

| Grans are the best. I hope someday to be as good of a gran as my own. She was my rock. No matter what happened in my life I knew I had her. She spoiled and loved me beyond the greatest imagination. In her eyes I was always perfect. If I needed she was always there. Gran is the one who has always held the families together. My gran has unspeakable energy. I am so lucky to have had her in my life. I wish for every little child in the world to be as lucky as me to have such a wonderful women in their lives. | |

| Ista and Fancy it sounds like you were both extrememly lucky with your grandmas! I had one like that too- she was always there for me no matter what. She was the most important person in my life. I didn't spend just weekends with my grandma tho, she raised me so was more of a mom to me me too. I miss her each and every day of my life and try to be the kind of person she was so she would be proud of me. As for grandkids - I love all of mine! Between Greg and I we have 6 soon to be 7 and they are all a joy to us. The time spent with them is precious and never long enough. There are major advantages to being a grandma. As much as I love my boys and enjoyed them when they were growing up it's completely different with grandkids, just more somehow. I know they make my life a joy and make me feel complete somehow, they bring much happiness to our lives. | |
