Inconsiderate Neighbor...

I have a neighbor that likes to come home and revs up his engine between 11pm and 1 am . Well long story short the house next to mine is split into two separate living areas almost like apartments well he use to live upstairs and when he came home you could not hear him when now that he lives downstairs he makes all the damn noise in the world... Anyways I get so irritated because now he parks near my oldest daughters bedroom window at it wakes her up. I almost feel like going to the Farm/Hunting supply store and buy wild animal pee and just spray it all over his van and do it early in the morning before he wakes up.. We have a lot of raccoons around here and I'm sure they would smell it and investigate.. Grrr It just pisses me off that he does that..

Doesn't your city have a "quiet time" ordnance? talk to the police and see if they'll check it out.

I agree with Blue. Here there is a noise ordinance after 10 pm, although I think summertime hours may be a little later, but not at no midnight and 1 am!

Here is a little info I found on the web, you can search for your own area and see what it says specifically for your town, this is just a general rule here..........

Most local noise ordinances designate certain "quiet hours" -- for example, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. on weekdays and until 8 or 9 a.m. on weekends. So running a power mower may be perfectly acceptable at 10 a.m. on Saturday, but not at 7 a.m. Some universally disturbing sounds are commonly banned or restricted. For instance, most cities prohibit honking car horns unless there is danger. This means that the daily early morning tooting across the street for the carpool is a violation. Dogs and motorcycles may also be singled out.

Many towns also prohibit sustained noise that exceeds a certain decibel level. The decibel limits are set according to the time of day and the neighborhood zoning. When a neighbor complains, police place decibel level monitoring equipment on an estimated property line and take a reading.

I think I would go over and talk to him just once and explain to him that school is strating soon and to please not do that, let him know he wakes up your children every time, then if he happens again then check into the noise ordinances

So how is the neighbor problem going?
