| For those of you who know what all is going on, I just wanted to let you know, I do now have a Dr's appointment for Sept 9th. 2 weeks from today. Which is good, my B-day is in one week on the 2nd........so at least I get to have my B-day first before we start the probbing and prodding. Not looking forward to any of that crap for sure.
I am so glad that the Hospital has a program (only geared for women) for Dr. visits on a sliding scale as I do not have insurance. My portion is only 10% of the fees for the Dr. visits - which is Great! They said that the office visits can range from $75 - $150 per visit, so the most I would have to pay each time I go is $15. As far as the actual hospital itself, there is another program I have to apply to once I start being billed from them - any lab work, hospital stay, etc.
Got my form to fill out yesterday, took it back today and they were calling me by 1:20 pm today to schedule me. They said they pushed my paperwork thru to get me in and started ASAP. Guess they were not liking the sounds of the shit I have been experiencing. So now only time will tell.

| Oh Dream I am so glad that you got an appt. It sounds like they really wanted to get you in, although I think 2 weeks is a long time to wait! I'm not very patient. But like you said atleast you get to enjoy your birthday | |

| Kriss, trust me getting in in 2 weeks is great. A few years back when I had to use them for my hysterectomy, my first appointment was like 5 weeks later! | |

| Dream I don't know what is going on but can guess to some extent. I'm happy for you that there is that program to let you pay just the 10%- that is wonderful! I will keep you in my prayers, keep positive thoughts about you. I'm hoping for the best news possible for you! I'm glad you will enjoy your b-day before all the poking and prodding. | |

| Went to my appointment, of course they did order some medical imaging tests of me. One I have to set up and am in the process of doing, the other they set up. Problem is most of my symptoms I am told I need to see a family practice DR as I was notably told by this one they only treat This and This as the Bitchy medical assistant slapped her breasts and croch! The DR I seen also is on vacation for the next few weeks, so the Ultrasound that she ordered and the follow up visit with her is not until the 14th of Oct.
Needless to say my oldest daughter (the only one I have said anything to at this point) and my Boyfriend are a little pissed off at that and the way I was treated. My bf said "So they just gonna let this shit sit and fester for another 30 days inside of you, WTF!?!?!" The exam was laughable, but then again I guess the Dr decided that if she was ordering some imaging of me, it was not truly necessary to actually feel for what I am complaining of.
On the good side of things, while calling this am to set up the one imaging test, the nice lady told me of another place to call for a Family Practice Dr. Well, called them and have to try calling back every morning at 7:30 to get an appointment. They do do sliding scale care there too, so that is a plus. So now I will be going to 2 different Dr's to get this shit straightened out. This whole thing has become more of a headache than the headache's I have been living with on a daily basis for about a month now.
Like I told my bf - "well, I guess since I am paying at a reduced rate, I am getting treated at a reduced rate." But hey, at least it is something, better than what I had prior too which was NOTHING!

| Aww Dream, I'm sorry that you got treated that way. What the hell was the assistant's problem...how unprofessional. Hopefully you can get an appointment for a family practice doctor soon. | |

| Call or email your state senator. The have a social services department in every state office. Generally the secratary will talk with you. Sometimes they step in and help and sometimes they dont . depends on if they think it is important enough. Dont hurt to try. I have used our senator before and they have been real good in helping us in social service areas and have made calls on our behalf. | |

| Dream I'm sorry to hear your experience was not so good-- as sad as it is that is the medical profession we have. They say it does not make a difference if you are paying a smaller fee or have state help but I know it does. It's not right and that assitant should not be able to treat people the way she did you- not at all and I agree with Nikki- I'd report her or file a complaint cuz I'm betting she has done it before too. You stand your ground because you deserve the same medical attention anyone else does and you should get it- -and not have to keep waiting for things. I'm keeping you in my prayers and thinking positive thoughts for you. | |

| Ok, have an appointment next Friday with a Family Dr. Maybe between the two, someone can figure something out here. I am gonna tell them to obtain a copy of my records from the other place, so maybe they can collaborate. | |
