Soft Pretzel Spiders ( taste just like Auntie Anne)
1 1/2 cup warm water
1 1/8 teaspoon active dry yeast
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 1/8 teaspoon salt
4 cups flour
( for baking soda water bath) 2 cups warm water 2 tablespoons baking soda
coarse salt to taste
4 tablespoons butter
Add yeast to warm water in a mixing bowl and stir to dissolve. Add sugar and salt and stir to dissolve. Add flour and kneed dough until smooth and elastic. Let rise at least 30 minutes.
Prepare a baking soda bath with baking soda and 2 cups warm water while dough is rising, stir often. When dough is risen pinch off small sections and roll into a ball and 6 legs to form a spider. Dip each piece in baking soda bath and assemble on greased baking sheet. Allow pretzels to rise again. Bake at 450 for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with melted butter and add salt to taste and ENJOY!
