| (sometimes I forget , and Its been awhile since I have visited my native prayers and wisdom , so today I found I was a bit lost and needed guidance. Here I will share one of the prayers)
Native American Prayer
Oh, Great Spirit Whose voice I hear in the winds, And whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me, I am small and weak, I need your strength and wisdom. Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset. Make my hands respect the things you have made and my ears sharp to hear your voice. Make me wise so that I may understand the things you have taught my people. Let me learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock.
I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy - myself. Make me always ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes. So when life fades, as the fading sunset, my Spirit may come to you without shame.

| We all should take our planet more seriously and treat it much kinder than we do. Thanks for sharing this with us Fancy! I really enjoyed it. | |

| Earth teach me quiet ~ as the grasses are still with new light. Earth teach me suffering ~ as old stones suffer with memory. Earth teach me humility ~ as blossoms are humble with beginning. Earth teach me caring ~ as mothers nurture their young. Earth teach me courage ~ as the tree that stands alone. Earth teach me limitation ~ as the ant that crawls on the ground. Earth teach me freedom ~ as the eagle that soars in the sky. Earth teach me acceptance ~ as the leaves that die each fall. Earth teach me renewal ~ as the seed that rises in the spring. Earth teach me to forget myself ~ as melted snow forgets its life. Earth teach me to remember kindness ~ as dry fields weep with rain. | |

| Fancy, I just read an article for class called "The Native Eye" which talks about how Navajos believe spirituality is incoporated in everything we do, and nothing is seperate from it.
It is actually a interesting article and not a boring school-ish one if you want to read it sometime!
I actually have to do an Analysis Paper on it so if you do read it, I'd love your input too. He does mention he can't speak for all natives but that is a Navajo point of view which may, or may not be similar to your own.
Beautiful prayer, is that the one Peggy loved?

Oh GREAT idea! I wish I could help you out there! I know several places here that have it but not sure about your town. Do you have an herb store that you could go to? I use sage with rosemary for cleansing, clarity and comfort.

| I do have it. I just have to figure out how to send Adobe files. I guess just upload, right?
It's only 5 pages so you won't be stuck reading forever. Plus I bet it's something you'd like to read, like I said, its not like a textbook, it's like a short story.
Good idea, don't post Peggy's favorite prayer unless you feel comfortable doing so.
