we act strange with our pets

what strange things do you do when with your pet?

I sing Blues clues to him because his name is blue , and if that is not enough.....

almost daily I pull up the blues clues theme video on you tube and we sit here and watch it together while i sing the song to him.....lol


I am convinced he really likes watching it and hearing it sing his name

AWW that is soo cute now he got uised 2 u singing it so he must be very relaxed hearing the song on the tv.

oh I know, my pets are really spoiled. Winnie is the most spoiled. The three others were adults when we got them. Winnie was only 6 months old. She eats everything I eat, even star fruit, canalope, everything. She even has her own computer chair right next to mine, and shes in it the whole time I am in mine.

AWW that is soo cute she has a routine with u .. Just watch she don't steal ur food while ur eating it lol .

when Beverly Hills Chihuahua comes out we will watch it together me and Blue (he is chihuahua)

since i seen the trailer for the movie I been telling him , he puts the WOW! in SHEE WOW WOW! (chihuahua)

I have one cat - Bear - that everytime he thinks he wants to eat, he has to have fresh food, even if there is plenty in the bowl. He will follow you around the house crying until you pour a little of fresh on top. (he got that from his father who is mentioned next)

Another cat - Jackie - (who was killed about 6 wks ago) had to have his own pillow to sleep with us on the bed. Plus his fresh food fetish that his son has now adopted since he has been gone. He would love for us to hang clothes out on the line. He would hide and then attack our feet from under the sheets and stuff as we hung them up. Yep he was a momma's boy. Spoiled to the core!

Our Blue Dogg must sleep in the middle of his mom and dad at night (me and hubby...lol)

he actually gets in between , lays his head on his pillow and gets his covers pulled up to under his neck.

If someone moves too close he growls....lol (he really thinks it is his bed)

LMAO, how sweet! Well after all you know it IS their house and they are just sharing it with you. At least that is the attitude I get around here from these 4 legged fury ones!

yes pretty much , he is very bossy. You would be amazed on how much bed a chihuahua will take and they do push you over by kicking and pushing with his legs.


If someone tries to leave the house besides me and his daddy he tries to bite them....lol

You guys have some great pet stories! I dont know if your pets are so much spoiled or if they just have you trained well???? lol kidding!!!!!!
We only have a bird- and she has quite the attitude. She's a love bird, her name is Cecelia, and she thinks she is in the busness of keeping the world full of eggs. She is my bf bird, he has raised her but it is me who takes care of her, feeding, cleaning of the cage, filling her bird bath and giving her treats. She was ok at first- I was able to teach her to give kisses. But silly me made the mistake of putting a mirror up for her so she might not be so loney- it worked way too well cuz that's when she started laying eggs. She lays from 3-6 of them and stops. I clean her cage often and of course get rid of the eggs- she now considers me the enemy cuz she tries to bite me all the time. Never mind it's me who gives her the clean cage, gives her food, fresh water, fresh bath water - it is me she tries to bite. My bf- nope, she leaves him alone. I do have a nick name for her- Little S**t and my pet story is not a warm, fuzzy one. She will however now and again give me a kiss and she still hops up on her perch when we are eating. If we get off schdule and don't sit at the counter she lets us know by being very loud. Each time she does lay an egg, she lets me know by jumping all over in her cage until I look. See, attitude.

I do the same exact thing Cher! I have about 4-5 songs for each of my animals and have somehow incorporated their names into them.

The worst is that we have a Chihuahua mix that only has one eye, so we try to find songs that contain the word "Eyes" and change the lyrics to reflect him only having one eye. So "These Eyes" by The Guess Who, becomes:

This eye is cryin’
This eye has seen a lot of loves
But it's never gonna see another one like I had with you!

When she starts she lays one egg every other day until she has 6. That is the most she will lay at one time. She has stopped at 3 before tho too. I can't reach in and take them- she will attack me- so have to find ways of taking them from her. It's like now that she started she cant' stop! I took the mirror away long ago but in the spring/summer with windows open we think she hears the birds outside and it makes her lay. Oh how sweet is that, the only song I really sing to mine is Santa Claus is coming to twom, but I relpace the word santa for kitty or doggie.

They sell little mock eggs for this purpose I think ... they're little porcelain eggs in various sizes you can buy at pet stores or an aviary. You replace her real ones with them, then she sits on them and they don't go rotten. (No idea if they would actually stop her from laying more tho- not sure how that works)

Thanks Lillen- I hadn't heard of those before. We might have to look into getting some. We don't know why she keeps laying either- have read books but no answers in them really. So she and I have an ongoing battle. . . her laying and me taking eggs away from her.
