ROCK CANDY
What you need:
2 cups water
4 cups sugar
• Pour water into a large saucepan.
• Add sugar and stir for 2-3 minutes to dissolve as much sugar as possible.
• Place the saucepan on the stove on medium to medium-high heat.
• Continue to stir the solution until all of the sugar is dissolved.
• Remove the saucepan from the stove and allow the liquid to cool.
• Pour the mixture into a square plastic container.
• In 7-10 days the bottom of your container will be covered with Rock Candy.
• Turn the plastic container upside down in a sink and allow it to drain for one hour.
• Break the Rock Candy up into chunks and place it on several layers of paper towels to dry.
Before cooking, add food coloring to your sugar mixture to create edible Rock Candy gems that look like rubies, emeralds, and sapphires.
